"Blanka Adensamová, Queen of Glass

She says that she is a heavy romantic. But heavy is mainly the glass that she works with, as well as the technique she uses. Still, the work by Blanka Adensamová, a glass artist, makes a light impression. She can do miracles: to capture the transformation of fervent glass material into crystal ice in a fleeting moment.

Born in Turnov, her CV includes information that almost represents an automatic ticket to the glass elite - graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Professor's Stanislav Libenský's glassmaking studio. But Blanka Adensamová was never satisfied with something that could be specified as "almost".

Blanka Adensamová managed to become a part of the glass elite very quickly. Straight after leaving school, one of her peices of work from crystal attracted the attention of American specialists so much that they included it amongst the hundred best works by glass artists in the world. The invitation to the largest glass museum in Corning was a wonderful experience. The catalogue from the exhibition covered the whole world and the professional public as well as glass lovers who couldn't not see the work of this lovely Czech designer. Her work can nowadays probably be found at all significant collections, museums and glass galleries." (Alena Řezníčková, iDnes)
